Best of 2012

Happy New Year!!!!

I'd like to start this post by saying that I am way behind on blogging. I haven't blogged several weddings, my favorite birth of all time, a bunch of personal stuff, and more. Therefore, my new years resolution is to blog a whole lot more. To create a habit of it. I would love a few nudges along the way if I don't blog, or some "hey, we are reading this" as some encouragement.

On to a few of my favorite people, moments, and photos of the year. There are a ton and this post doesn't even begin to cover them all! I've been so fortunate this year to do the most of what I love the most, which is couples, brides, and weddings. But I have really enjoyed the few other sessions I've taken this year like a birth, a few familys and more. I hope 2013 is as amazing as 2012 was for me, if not even better. I already have some amazing couples on the books for next year and I can't wait! Thank you all for making 2012 so amazing!

Baby Ryder - a birth story

Ryders-Birth-17

Until April 2nd I had never seen a birth or even been near one. I really wasn't sure I wanted to, but I knew I wanted to photograph the experience. I'll be honest, I was wishing I hand't eaten lunch just before, and when it was time to push I wanted a trash can. I guess I'm a wimp, but I was strong and held on, and boy was I glad because it was the most beautiful thing to see this baby come into the world. To witness the excitement of family, the instant love of the parents and sibling, just the amount of love and caring in that labor and delivery room. When Ryder decided it was his time to arrive I drove to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton to photograph his birth. I arrived about an hour before the pushing started.  I must say, the doctor and nurses were amazing. They let me photograph the entire time, so I was able to capture photos for the family of everything! I wished all hospitals were this amazing. If/when I ever give birth this is a must have; I'll do whatever I have to so the hospital will let a photographer cover the entire thing because having those first moments documented is priceless.
